Robbing Mary is an original roots rock band, yet its refreshing and original music contains subtle undertones of the blues, folk, alternative rock, jam, alt-country and even funk at times. Coming from diverse musical backgrounds and having a broad array of influences, Robbing Mary's members individually and collectively have many years of experience in composition, performance and recording. While the violin is certainly a distinguishing characteristic of Robbing Mary's sound, the contrast of male and female vocal leads and harmonies, not to mention an inextricably intertwined rhythm section, provide the foundation for Robbing Mary's unique sound. Robbing Mary's members are always professional in their approach to their music, while simultaneously realizing that improvisation is the essential key to a memorable live performance.

Together now for over 4 years as a 5 peice unit, Robbing Mary has composed dozens of original songs, with new original material in the works, and the band is currently working on their upcoming full length album. We expect to release this phantom album sometime in the next decade - it's a big task, but one we will be seriously working toward in the near future. No need to put any extra pressure by dropping a release date, though. With the 2006 release of our 5-song Demo, "The Oldest Profession," we have been hitting the stage circuit with passion and intensity, and having a hell of a lot of fun. Even the casual listener will quickly discover that the songs on this introspective and sometimes wry demo cannot be confined to a single genre of music. Written, produced and recorded exclusively by Robbing Mary, this collection of songs is merely the start of many more to come. There are 11 songs, free for download in the 'songs' link. These are updated and have been compiled as a 'best of' so far, and unofficially called, 'Unofficial.' We know...very clever. Anyway - please download them all - they are all tagged for iPods and are high quality 192kbit mp3's.
